Erie Canal Historic Tours

Seayaker Outfitters offers various combinations of guided, sea kayaking mini-adventure historic tours along the legendary Erie Canal. Each allows you to experience some of our national heritage from a unique perspective--up close and personal. Paddle with us exploring canal towns, locks and unique hide-a-ways along this man-made "inland river". Never been in a sea kayak before? No much to worry about if you're reasonably fit. Our ACA certified coastal kayak instructors teach you the BASICs to feel at ease in controlling your craft. It's FUN, with an easy-going pace, allowing you to savor the scenery, environment, and wildlife. Quietly travel down corridors of the original "Clinton's Ditch", alongside towpaths, pass through various locks, and examine groove marks left behind from towropes of long ago. Historic tours are 7-8 hours long suitable for adults and families with teens. Prices include all equipment.
